She was on her final rounds for the day, the sun setting lazily at her back over the distant waves of the sea. It was dusk, and at this hour it was time for one of the Amazonian Queen's people to take over her scouting route.
The wind was cool and smelled of salt and brine as it passed over the cliffs and into the wolf's hair and fur, causing her to smile and breathe in deeply. She was at peace and, from what she could sense, so was her world. Nature was in balance, finally... The last war had kept a sense of clarity and serenity at bay for months, but now that it was over, now that all the dust had settled, things had recovered.
Pausing at a clearing between the ocean and the gateway to Amazon Country, the monarch took a moment to thank Artemis for the blessings she had bestowed upon her people, and it was in that moment that a lone female deer darted through the trees, visible only for a few seconds, before disappearing back into the shadows of the darkening woods. The wolf smiled again and gazed up into the orange and rosy sky, nodding once in acknowledgement, before continuing forth on her path.
The time of peace was to endure for years to come...
